Hebrew Character x 4 and 1 Common Quaker was all I could find in the 50W MV trap this morning. Light rain and a min temp recorded of 6.1c degrees .

21 March: ffy Caloptilia stigmatella. Twin-spotted Quaker, Red-green Carpet

20 March: twenty species, including: A.literana, A.kochiella, D.fagella, Y.mucronella, ffg Z.hepariella.  Among the macros, Shoulder Stripe, Dotted Border, ffy Dotted Chestnut and Water Carpet

Some still, cloudy nights have produced some excellent spring mothing. Two traps, one MV, one 20W actinic:

19/3: 83 of 13sp, best were Shoulder Stripe, Oak Beauty, Diurnea fagella (5), Agonopterix yeatiana and an impressive 15 Depressaria daucella.

20/3: 100 of 18sp, best were March Moth (2), Oak Nycteoline (2), Herald, Oak Beauty (2), Agonopterix yeatiana, Agonopterix alstromeriana, Caloptilia semifascia.

21/3: 137 of 18sp, best were Early Thorn (2), Brindled Pug (3), V-Pug, Twin-spotted Quaker (11), Shoulder Stripe (2), Agonopterix yeatiana (2), Agonopterix alstromeriana, Caloptilia stigmatella, Diurnea fagella (3), Small Quaker (10).

A night that was clear, then cloudy with showers produced thirty-eight moths of just four species: Ypsolopha mucronella, Chestnut, Hebrew Character and Common Quaker.
