Best night of the year to date - 85 species (and counting) and almost 700 moths (just one trap). Highlights included FFG Mompha ochraceella and Double Square-spot (finally). FFY included: Eucosma cana, Nephopterix angustella, Euzophera pinguis, Anania crocealis, Eudonia delunella, Crambus perlella, Magpie, Phoenix, Brown Silver-line, Small Angle Shades, Green Arches & Clouded Brindle. Migrants were Diamond-back Moth (32) and Rusty-dot Pearl (2).

2 MV traps opened yesterday. Finally a decent haul;. Migrants, diamond b moth (x3) & rusty d pearl (x2). Elephant hawk 2, Lesser y underwing, cypress carpet, common emerald, l album wainscot, snout, double square spot, euro corn borer, s magpie 2, green silver lines, cream bordered green pea 3, clouded border, set. Hebrew character 2, c marbled carpet, vines rustic and build up in numbers of willow beauty, heart & dart, bright lines b eye, dark arches 7, riband wave and large y underwing. 65 spp plus, micros noticeably pseudargyrotozoa conwagana 8,

Puddletown 25th June
Good night for me but my actinic trap doesn't catch as much as some. Even so, a hard afternoon working out the numerous micros in particular. Highlights were Scarce Footman, Tawny-Barred Angle, Lobster moth, Foxglove Pug, Eucosma Campoliliana and Dioryctria abietella.

Another big night - 104 species including 1 P. vitrealis and 1 Dark Sword-grass.  FFG Reddish Light Arches.  FFY Thistle Ermine, P. subochreella, P. aurata, Figure of 80, Brown-tail (with a few spots!), July Belle, Broad-barred White, Double-lobed, Green Arches, Grey Arches and Cream-bordered Green Pea.

Much improved here as well - 67 species (over 500 individuals) including FFG Ephestia unicolorella (tbc).  FFY included Archips podana, Pyrausta despicata, Buff Arches, Cypress Carpet, Brussels Lace, Beautiful Hook-tip, Blackneck, Brown Rustic & Dusky Brocade. Migrants were Diamond-back Moth (3) and Delicate (2).

Cloudy, still and humid - ideal conditions.  101 species but not a single migrant.  Large numbers including 214 Large Yellow Underwings in 2 traps.  Many FFYs - highlights were: S. subfusca, P. palumbella, N. angustella, R. formosa, C. lathoniellus, Brown China-mark, Small China-mark, Common Emerald, Blue-bordered Carpet, Lime-speck Pug, Four-dotted Footman, Scarlet Tiger, Dark/Grey Dagger agg., Coronet, Bird's Wing and Small Dotted Buff,

RSPB Radipole Lake - 21/06/2019
10:30pm - 12:30pm with an MV. Just 26 species noted but very high number of Single-dotted Wave with 45 recorded. Also notable was 14 Round-winged Muslin. Other species included Southern Wainscot, Silky Wainscot, Pinion-streaked Snout, and Light Arches.

Whitchurch Canonicorum
Decent night with 328 moths of 75 species. Only recently starting trapping at this site so plenty were new for the site but highlights were Phtheochroa inopiana, Notocelia roborana, Eudonia delunella, Poplar Kitten and Little Emerald. Heart & Dart made up the bulk of the catch with 105 followed by 35 Large Yellow Underwing and 23 Dark Arches. Migrants were 1 Silver Y, 1 Dark Sword-grass and a Udea ferrugalis.

Migrants were singles of Diamond-back moth and Delicate.

Holt Heath 15th June
This is a start to surveying Holt Heath for moths with a 3W LED bulb and a Eco Heath Trap. Only 3 moths to the trap, one got away and the others were Satin Wave and Brown Silver-lines.

Holt Heath 1st June
Went out with a Yellow-legged pheromone lure to try and see if any clearwings were at Holt Heath in the small wood. This is the first time I tried this lure and I had 2 Yellow-leggged Clearwing one each at different locations but both by hanging the lure on Oak trees.

A very good night.  60 species including 3 U. ferrugalis.  FFY E. maculicerusella, B. lancealana, Red-barred Tortrix, S. ambigualis, Water Veneer, Poplar Kitten, The Flame and Light Arches.

Surprisingly only 30 species last night even though the weather conditions seemed much the same as the night before.  FFY Cyclamen Tortrix, Small White Wave and Buff Ermine.
