Also my first ever Four-spotted, exceptionally rare away from the Portland stronghold.

Wed 10th July 2019 20:12 by Andrew Foster Turnworth Common, 10th July 2019
Put out a pheromone lure for Yellow-legged/Orange-tailed clearwing in the hope of recording Yellow-legged as Turnworth has many old oaks with decay features. Lure with trap was left out from 10.45 -17.45 - alas no Yellow-legged but to my amazement 15 Orange-tailed Clearwings of varying size - some twice the size of others. Luckily the trap was set under the canopy of an oak in shade, so all were alive and released. Curious as no Viburnum was obvious nearby. Incidentally, my clearwing lures are now about 6 years old (freezer stored) but clearly remain highly potent. Wed 10th July 2019 20:04 by Andrew Foster Bridport 9th July 2019
