Bridport, 29 August - update
Earlier in the week there were 2 Clifden Nonpareils in the garden light trap a few nights apart. They were different individuals, the second in very fresh condition - it was only when I released it last night that it expelled meconium liquid, indicating that it was recently emerged and in all probability from somewhere nearby. This would suggest that there is currently a resident population in or around Bridport and whilst I'm not aware of any aspen close by other planted poplars are frequent in the vicinity.
