Species Account

Davey, P., 2020: Dowdy Plume Stenoptilia zophodactylus: A species restricted mainly to southern Britain, preferring open, sparsely vegetated habitats, the larva feeding on common centaury Centaurium erythraea, yellow-wort Blackstonia perfoliata, and marsh gentian Gentiana pneumonanthe. In Dorset, this species is well established, favouring two principle biotypes, coastal undercliffs particularly those prone to landslip, and heathland where common centaury and marsh gentian grow.
