Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in Britain, the larva feeding on scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), spruce (Picea spp.) and fir (Abies spp.). In Dorset, the moth is common to abundant in conifer plantation. The moth is bivoltine with two double-brood cycles suspected in May and September, and again in late June and October. The length of time between the peaks of a given cycle is roughly one hundred and eighteen days. The peak of the autumn generations is, on average, six times larger than that emerging during the spring.
